TOOLS (Technology of Object-Oriented Languages and Systems) TOOLS USA '97, the
twenty-third TOOLS International Conference and Exhibition, returns to Santa
Barbara for the seventh time and continues the commitment to excellence
demonstrated by earlier conferences in Europe, the Pacific and the US.
Standards established for TOOLS by earlier conferences in the series include

z Emphasis on the practice of object-oriented technology and its application in
industrial environments, complementing the more academically-oriented
perspective of traditional conferences.
z Solid technical program, based on a strict refereeing process conducted by an
international program committee comprised of both academic and industry leaders:

Proposals for Panels

Proposals for panels are solicited for the TOOLS USA 97. Panels topics may
include the whole range of object-oriented concepts, such as O-O and the
Internet, O-O databases, patterns, frameworks, analysis and design methods, O-O
languages, concurrency, formal methods, management issues Java and many others.

Each proposal must include the panel title, a brief summary of the key issues
to be discussed, the proposed panel format (including any unusual operational
issues), panel moderator contact information (name, affiliation, address, phone
and fax number, electronic mail address), and panelist information (for each
panel member, supply background biographical information and a short position
statement on the issues and the concrete steps). Panel proposals should be
submitted by e-mail: plain text files

Proposals for Workshops

Proposals for workshop are solicited for the TOOLS USA 97. TOOLS workshops are
unique in the sense that a workshop session (usual session time 2-3 hrs)
discusses a current topic of interest in-depth and have only two or three
presenters providing their findings and experience. The workshop topic may deal
with be any current hot topics covering O-O technology, JAVA, Internet, etc.

Each proposal must include the workshop title, a brief summary of the key area
to be discussed, workshop organizers contact information (name, affiliation,
address, phone and fax number, electronic mail address), and presenters
information (for each workshop presenter, supply background biographical
information and an abstract of the topic). Workshop proposals should be
submitted by e-mail plain text files.

Submission Date:

Panel and workshop proposals should be submitted by April 15, 1997.
Acceptance of the proposal will be sent by May 15, 1997.
Camera ready copy of the panel position papers and workshop papers should be
sent by June 15, 1997. (These papers will be published into the conference
proceedings).
